Adopt a Month at the Community Soup Kitchen!

Elijah’s Promise is announcing the new Adopt a Month’s Rent Program at the Community Soup Kitchen!

Elijah’s Promise relies on support from community donors like you to continue to fight hunger and change lives in the New Brunswick community.

The Elijah’s Promise Community Soup Kitchen in new Brunswick serves almost 300 meals a day to individuals who would otherwise go hungry. For $6,000, you can adopt one month’s rent at the Community Soup Kitchen which allows us to continue operating out of our soup kitchen space located at 18 Neilson St.

A huge thank you to our first month’s donors who adopt our rent for February 2019.

Thank you to the Bershad and Struminger Families who very generously donated the $6,000 to cover February’s Rent at the Community Soup Kitchen. We are beyond grateful for their generosity!

Here are a few thoughts from Ronald Struminger has to about his support for Elijah’s Promise:

“Next year, my company JLS Professional will be celebrating 50 years in this wonderful city. In our time in New Brunswick, we have helped the City of New Brunswick Police with community outreach whenever possible. Lately, however, I’ve been wanting to help the community in other ways.

I enjoy cooking and I always like to help those less fortunate than I. When I met Pamela Conover Johnson preparing food at one of my properties, there was an instant connection. In fact, there is also a special bond between her and my daughter. She told me a bit about what she does, and I was eager to help out. The rest is history.

Nowadays I spend every Thursday morning volunteering in the Elijah’s Promise Kitchen with her or Chef Curtis; whether it is cooking, prepping foods, taking care of deliveries, helping in the dining room, or serving food. We have all become a Family, with the same goal – Feed the Homeless and less fortunate, and my extra goal–to see a smile on everyone’s face!

I have been asked to join the Board, which I graciously accepted, and I hope that I can contribute and help Elijah Promise flourish for many years to come.”

Thank you to the The Bershad and Struminger Families!
